Be Positive

What do I say? I'm not much of a writer...I never thought I would even have a blog...but, here I am. I guess up until now, even a couple months ago, I never imagined myself even coding. Life is very amusing that way I guess...

Where do I start?...

My background currently, is mostly music related. In short, I graduated with a bachelors of music education in 2010 and a masters of jazz performance in 2014. My hopes were to obtain a job teaching while also pursuing a career playing music. Around 2008 while I was in school the economy took a nose dive and the arts went with it. Ultimately, I was not able to find a full-time teaching position after countless interviews, cover letters, rejections, and two plus years of job hunting. This leads me to where I am now...

Over the time frame of a year I contemplated going to a bootcamp. I couldn't do it though...I was really determined to make my situation work for me. I was also **scared** of leaving something I invested so much time into. It wasn't until two of my friends from college finished coding bootcamps that I decided to make the leap.

My search lead me to The Firehose Project(aka TFP). Due to my lifestyle as a musician and teacher, I needed to find something that was flexible enough so I could keep my day job and gigs. So far, it is definitely working out. I could go on forever about the details of TFP and why it is an amazing bootcamp to learn coding from but I don't think I could do it justice. If you considering coding, I would recommend you check out their website for more information!
